Scholarships Presented to Brentsville Seniors

Scholarships were presented to Brentsville Seniors Andrew Johnson, Stephanie Hutson, and Raymond Delgado on May 19, 2008. Buck Waters presented the scholarships during the BDHS Academic Awards Program.

Stephanie Hutson received a $750 scholarship. Stephanie plans on attending UVA to pursue an engineering degree. She became a team captain her senior year and was part of the Leadership Council. In addition, she also mentored other runners, passing along the lessons she had learned. Congratulations Stephanie. Raymond Delgado received a $750 scholarship and will be attending VMI and pursuing a mechanical engineering degree. A team captain, he received numerous awards for his running accomplishments and was recognized by a number of local newspapers. Congratulations. The final and largest scholarship of $1,000 went to an outstanding individual, Andrew Johnson. Andrew will be attending Christopher Newport and pursuing a computer engineering degree. Also a team captain, he assumed many leadership roles and has taken the lessons learned from cross-country and incorporated them into his personal life as well. Congratulations.
